OpenRA – Command & Conquer: Red Alert

OpenRA is a free Open Source/Libre RTS (Real Time Strategy) game based on the game Command & Conquer: Red Alert.

The original game dates back to 1996 and was created by Westwood Studios. During the release of Red Alert 3 had EA decided to release Command and Conquer: Red Alert as freeware.

OpenRA is a copy of the original game and is still actively being developed. The game supports modern screen resolutions and cross-platform multiplayer.
OpenRA also contains several new units from the expansion packs “Counter strike” and “The Aftermath”.

In addition to the multiplayer mode, there are also single player missions and a skirmish mode against AI opponents.

The game is available on Windows, OS X and many Linux distributions.

In addition to C&C: Red Alert, OpenRA also contains C&C Tiberian Dawn (the very first Command & Conquer), and Dune 2000.
