Dota 2

Dota 2 is a MOBA (multiplayer online battle arena) game created by Valve. Dota 2 is the successor to the original DotA (Defense of the Ancients), a mod for Warcraft III: The Frozen Throne. The game was launched in July 2013 and has received a lot of positive reviews. Dota 2 is available for Windows, OS X and Linux.

In Dota 2 play two teams of five players battle against each other in a symmetrical map. The objective of the game is to destroy the opponents base together with your team. In Dota 2 you can choose from about 100 different heroes (characters). Each hero has his own playing style and abilities.

Dota 2 competitions are organised all over the world. Some competitions have prize money of hundreds of thousands of euros. Dota 2 is the second largest MOBA game. The largest MOBA is  League of Legends.
